Recent INSPIRATION
Acupuncturist Kaz Wwgmüller
wrote in his recent book,
Acupuncture For Curious People,
“Everybody is a whole body. So we treat the whole body. Kindness, balance, and harmony are what we seek, to manifest and embody, so we treat the patient in a kind and balanced way.”
Using our hearts, hands, and minds, we hope to provide comfort and support, easing pain and suffering. Approach another human with kindness, curiosity, compassion, and respect, and all sorts of wonderful things
will happen.”
MISSION STATEMENT: OPEN Acupuncture Project INC. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our MISSION is to provide and promote public access to affordable acupuncture through our community clinics and community partnerships. We believe acupuncture should be available to everyone as a routine healthcare option.
Statement Of Inclusivity + Ethics
OPEN Acupuncture Project works to create a safe and comfortable environment for all members of our community. We welcome people of all genders, sexes, races, colors, incomes, national origins, ages, abilities or disabilities, marital statuses (legal or otherwise), familial situations, religions, sizes and shapes, sexual orientations, and political beliefs. Your level of care will never be based on any of these factors.
Why We Do It This Way
Because acupuncture does not have to be expensive in order to be effective ❧
Because nothing breaks through the isolation of pain, illness, and depression
like healing in a room with other humans ❧
Because our favorite way to spread the word about how well acupuncture works
is to make it available to people ❧
Because we are pleased to challenge the notion of value being attached to price ❧
Because there aren't enough spaces where strangers switch off cell phones
and slumber side by side ❧
Because for thousands of years, acupuncture has been practiced this way ❧
Because returning acupuncture to its roots makes us the happiest of humble radicals ❧
Because we are passionate about our work & couldn't imagine doing anything else ❧
We are a part of the community acupuncture movement.

INDIGENOUS RECOGNITION
We wish to acknowledge that, where we gather, at our clinic spaces, we are on the unceded land of the original inhabitants of N’Dkinna, the Abenaki. These people of the Dawnland have cared for the land for generations and continue to do so. Their relationship to the land calls us to learn to be better caretakers of the land ourselves. We pay our respects to the ancestors who were here for all time and honor with gratitude this
land and all it gives us.
DONATE to Support The Abenaki Nation
We felt it was important to create a link to be able to donate to the indigenous people of Vermont, whose land we practice on. There are four Vermont State-recognized bands of indigenous people. The Missisqoui, Elnu, Koasek and Nulhegan. Here, we are linking to the Missisqoui, the oldest of the tribes. They have a link on their home page where people can make donations. The area they cover is perhaps one of the most financially challenged and in need of resources. They have developed an extensive food shelf and help around 700 people a month, no questions asked and no requirement for those they help to be Abenaki. We have been guided by the Vermont Commission on Native American Affairs to believe that any donations to them would have the most impact.
Please consider this important donation: www.abenakination.com/donations/1395/
PLEASE DONATE FIRST TO THE ABENAKI NATION (above)
yet if you are in the spirit of giving
AND are able to SUPPORT LOCAL COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE as well
Donations to a 501(c)3 organization
are tax-deductible and will go towards providing appointments for patrons who
are unable to afford the sliding scale
~ thank you for your support ~

Jamie Long is a Vermont-licensed acupuncturist. She was fortunate to grow up in Lamoille County. She has always had a passion for serving her community and feels deeply connected to the land here. She completed her BA at the University of Colorado in Boulder. After university, Jamie worked in Stowe at both the hockey and ski academies tutoring young athletes in the sciences. Jamie also started a landscaping business, Flo Gardens, with her dear friend, a business that is still thriving! Most recently, Jamie moved out west and completed five years of study in New Mexico + Oregon to receive a Master’s Degree in acupuncture. The school she attended in Oregon, is one of a kind in that they train students specifically in the art of community acupuncture.
